Arthur Mallon Foods a progressive food manufacturing business currently on the lookout for a leader in way of Operations Manager responsible for all operational planning and execution.


This is a newly created role providing exciting opportunity to join a progressive leadership team. Purpose of role to drive the business forward aiding the change management process by continuously improving business processes, ensuring all metrics and targets are achieved (quality, Safety, cost and service). Position offers unique opportunity to work with experienced senior management with abundance of tacit/ industry knowledge. Role reports directly into Head of Manufacturing which purpose is very much heading up positive change, aided by the support of newly appointed Operations Manager. Engineering/production/ manufacturing/ food experience extremely desirable. Mallon’s is considered an innovative, progressive business always looking at how we can be better and do better, which is apparent in being leading producer of sausages in Ireland, County Monaghan since 1940. Mallon’s have won over 160 awards both nationally and internationally, which makes us the most awarded sausage maker in Ireland!

Location: Co. Monaghan


Salary expectation: Depending on experience


Experience:      4 years’ experience in similar role/ FMCG manufacturing environment


Thrives in team-based environment, accountability for service levels, inventory management, Quality/ GMP compliance.


Big emphasis on efficiency and standard cost and expense control


Degree in Mechanical/ Production Engineering or equivalent essential


Continuous Improvement/Project Management Qualification preferable


Proficient IT skills, competent in Microsoft/ Excel packages


Exceptional people skills with focus on continues improvements within self and business.


HACCP experience/ qualification or IOSH qualification would be advantageous.


Main Area of Responsibility:

Responsible for the performance of the AMF & TRM operations functions as measured by core metrics of quality,

safety performance & people development. Maintaining positive employee relations in line with company ‘family-

oriented culture’ as well as people planning. Manufacturing, engineering processes and technology improvement

functions. Ensuring company and site KPIS are met, Maintaining high technical standards.
